Poetry is a wonderful thing.
Poetry gives you the ability to be yourself and channel emotions deep within that you didn't even know were there.
Free Verse is probably the most widely used form in the poetry community. It usually follows the rhythm of natural speech. Free Verse is personally my favourite type of poetry; it allows your imagination to run wild. When writing these types of poems, the most important thing is to not worry about how you want to say something: just get it down on the paper and you can worry about the wording later. Also, when writing you're trying to connect to the readers emotions; imagery and very descriptive adjectives help to create an image in the reader's head, and allows them to put themselves in the poem.

Sonnets are typically about love or philosophy. They are broken into parts. The first one is just a statement and basically introducing the poem. The second introduces the climax, and develops it. Although usually about two, modern poetry sometimes depicts other topics.

About The Author
My name is Gabi Angel and I am from Virginia, USA. I am 17 years old. I started as a Culinary Arts major, but changed it once I realised how much I love writing. Now I am a Liberal Arts major in college. I fell in love with poetry when I was 13, and have been in love ever since. My ultimate goal is to be an outlet for someone who needs it, because life has a weird way of stacking all the odds against you and poetry can help me do that.
